Ffxiv listening position.

As of 12/12/2020, after an update on my Windows computer, my audio on FFXIV no longer plays. It is just FFXIV with this issue. I am on PC and I have tried numerous ways to get the audio back, from: -Changing my Borderless Windowed game to Windowed>Closing the game>Opening game>Going to Fullscreen mode -Rolling back the Windows Update that happened on 12/12/2020 for my computer -Updating the ...1 Step: 540. 2 Steps: 720. Step Bonus: Grants Standard Finish and Esprit to self and party member designated as your Dance Partner. This doesn't totally fix the issues, but makes it better. You sometimes still have to rotate your camera to face away to clear up any more stutter.

You can change listening position to be based on camera or character, but there's no way to change it so it's omnidirectional. Also, having multiple spatial audio and/or surround sound affecting products running simultaneously often means those programs will interfere with one another, but that was not my problem ...

I have that, but I had to take some screenshots and annotate them to describe, roughly, what's going on with the positional audio almost any time I've turned on Immerse. Almost. When I was on the trial using the app that creates a new sound device entirely, it worked pretty well. Once or twice when I had the plugin for FFXIV it worked really well.

With Listening Position set to 100 Character, that /mandervilledance will sound like it's coming from behind you to the right at some distance relative to your character.

I know not all FCs do this, but if your FC has it so anyone can change the music, you can use it for that, too. Basically do you want your listening point to be on your character or wherever your camera happens to be at the time. Or somewhere inbetween (for whatever reason). Personally I suggest setting it to camera and forgetting it even exists.
